Christopher Blum graduated in 2020 from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. He was selfless, giving freely of his time to his community. He actively volunteered at a suicide prevention hot-line, a food bank, and other humanitarian and equality-based organizations; but this does not begin to explain the impact and legacy that Christopher leaves to this day.
Christopher’s spirit and love of life were contagious. He loved musical theater and was a member of the Hillsborough High School choir and theatre program, The Somerset Valley Players Community Theater as well as the TCNJ Musical Theatre Group.
He was also passionate about travel and gourmet cooking. In addition to family vacations, as a freshman in high school, he traveled to China for 3.5 weeks for a summer camp program. He spent a semester in Heidelberg, Germany during his sophomore year of college, while also visiting many European countries during that time. He dove into the culture, sights, and flavors of every country he visited.
Most of all, Christopher loved people. The Christopher Blum '20 Memorial Scholarship Fund is being created in Christopher’s memory to celebrate his passion for community service and activism. In addition to family and friends contributing to the establishment of the fund, the Blum family is organizing the 1st Annual Christopher Blum '20 Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing set to take place this August.
